Version 1.4 of Oxygen Feedback Cloud brings you more exciting features for the modern comment management platform that provides a simple and efficient way for your community to interact and offer feedback.

The most interesting new feature added in this version is the ability for your users to add and manage comments contextually at a specific location within the output page where block elements appear, without having to scroll to the comments area at bottom of the page. The Block-Level Comments feature is also integrated with the Feedback Comments Manager plugin for Oxygen XML Editor/Author, making it easier to locate the exact content referenced by a particular comment and streamlines the process of making changes to the source document in response to the provided comments.

Add and Manage Comments Contextually

Your users can now add and manage comments contextually at a specific location within the output page where block elements appear (e.g. section, paragraph, list, or table elements) without having to scroll to the comments area at bottom of the page. This means that the feedback is more precise and it is easier to locate the exact content referenced by the comments. For technical details, see our user guide topic: Block-Level Comments.

Integrate Block-Level Comments Using Feedback Comments Manager View

To integrate comments back into your DITA source, you can now use the Feedback Comments Manager view, available in Oxygen XML Editor/Author. Just double-click or select the Open topic contextual menu action on a block-level comment and the parent document is opened in the editor and the element that the block-level comment is attached to is highlighted. This makes it easier to locate the exact content referenced by a particular comment and streamlines the process of making changes in the source document in response to that comment.

Filter Comments in the Output

You now have the ability to filter the comments in the output page. The commenting component at the bottom of the output page now includes a filter drop-down menu where, for instance, you can choose to only display comments in a specific state like Not resolved or Waiting for approval.
